Curriculum outline: Spring Term 2010

English:
Focusing on the understanding, interpretation and engagement with a range of texts, and writing effectively, creatively and accurately in a variety of styles.

Maths:
Mental calculations. Units of measurement. Problem solving using 4 operations of number. Revision of shape, identifying axes and symmetry. Recognising fractions and equivalent fractions. Fractions of Quantities. Compass point and direction. Measuring angles. Refine column addition and subtraction. Further practice with multiplication and division.

Science:
Changes in materials. Dissolving, filtering, evaporation. Thermometers. Melting and freezing. Light shadows, properties, optical instrument construction. The Earth, sun and moon.

ICT:
touch typing, creating documents. Editing. Create flyers and posters.

History:
The Romans

Geography:
1) Desert Climates 2) Revising Map work 3) Revision for end of term test.

French:
House and home, rooms, furniture. Prepositions. Classroom objects. Transport. Holidays and activities.

RE:
Prayer. Churches. A vicar's daily life.Religious symbols and icons.

Music:
