English:
Grammar /punctuation: active/passive voice, revision of colon and semicolon. Formal writing and official language. How to set out a formal letter of complaint. Write information leaflet making use of formal language and the imperative form. Study a range of texts incorporating flashbacks and time changes. Write and plan alternative versions. Class reader: Carrie's War.

Maths:
Algebra – simplification of expressions by gathering ‘like terms’; substitution; equations; expansion of brackets; factorising x. Revise angles,volume, surface area of shapes for exam preparation.

Science:
Forces. Chemical studies. Pond life. Protection of the environment. Conservation. Growing up. Changes in our bodies. Sex education. The Very Young Child – Early Years at School.

ICT:
Powerpoint presentations.

History:
The Home Front 1939-45. Background to the start of the war. The blitz. Types of shelter from air raids. Consequences of war: rationing, evacuation, changing role of women. Visit to Farnham Museum to experience procedure for evacuees.

Geography:
Coastline and the threat of erosion. Field study and follow up work on local area.

French:
Adjective agreement. Numbers. Shopping – prices, quantities and weights. Verbs; acheter, vouloir and pouvoir. Self, family and pet description. Hobbies and activities.

RE:
1. Judaism and living as a Jew.
2. Revision of year’s work for exam week.

Music:
Plan, chose and rehearse for summer season, leavers' song and concerts

Art:
Art and music theme. Surrealism, 3D, papier mache, still life drawing, looking at masters.
