LITTLE CONIFERS PRE-SCHOOL
Conifers School is a leading nursery and pre-school in Midhurst, West Sussex. Pupils often begin their journey in our Nursery Class, before Pre-School and then Reception.
Welcome to Little Conifers Nursery & Pre School – a place where young minds grow and develop through a range of exciting and stimulating experiences. At Little Conifers Nursery & Pre School, we understand the importance of early education and the benefits of nurturing a child’s curiosity, thirst for knowledge and to develop a love of learning. Our experienced teachers provide a welcoming and supportive environment that encourages children to learn through play, exploration, and discovery whilst also bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to these classes, making learning fun and engaging for every child.
Our excellent Early Years team work alongside specialist teaching staff in the main school to offer a comprehensive range of specialist classes, including Spanish, Music, PE, and Ballet. Whether it’s singing songs in Spanish, learning ballet moves, or playing games that promote physical development, our specialist classes are designed to inspire and motivate your child.
In addition to our specialist classes, we also offer Forest School and outdoor learning opportunities, which allow children to explore and connect with nature. Our Forest School programme teaches children valuable life skills, such as problem-solving, teamwork, and resilience, while also promoting a love and appreciation for the natural world.
At Little Conifers Nursery & Pre School, we understand that transitioning to Reception class can be a big step for children and parents alike. That’s why we provide a supportive and caring environment that prepares children for the next stage of their education. Our carefully crafted curriculum is designed to meet the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and will provide your child with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
Our Little Conifers Nursery and Pre-School hours are 8:30am – 3:30pm. We also offer flexible full wraparound care for our families, including morning and after school care when children are able to join us for from 8am to 5.15pm* if required.
*Please note that children aged 2 years will need to be collected by 4.30pm. Once your child turns 3 then they are able to stay until the later time of 5.15pm. Please see our Head of Early Years, Mrs Tafflene Henderson, if you would like to book your child into wraparound care.
Early Years Entitlement
Children aged three and four years old can claim their funded hours at Conifers School from the term after their third birthday. EYE funded hours can be claimed against all hours that our Pre-School is open, from 8am to 3.30pm during term time. Early Years Funding (EYE) hours are accepted up to 30 free hours. As our Pre-School pupils receive a range of lessons delivered by specialist teachers, including Languages, PE, outdoor learning, forest school and music, there will be an enhanced provision charge of £10 for each of these specialist sessions by children eligible for the EYE Grant during our core hours. If you wish to opt out of this enhanced provision fee then please let your child’s teacher or the school office know and your child will be able to join in with another class activity.

Learning Support – Conifers School offers a support programme for children who need additional educational and/or pastoral support. Staff and parents are encouraged to communicate any concerns to the attention of the school SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), Mrs Chloe Fhil-Pearson, or in the case of welfare issues, to the child’s form teacher or to Mrs Sharon Fourie, our Head of Pastoral Care.
