REMOTE LEARNING PROGRAMME

During lockdown pupils benefited from a full remote learning programme with teachers visible during each lesson.

At Conifers we are extremely proud of our remote learning offering.

During the lockdown pupils from Reception to Year 8 enjoyed a full online learning curriculum with their teachers visible during each lesson. We were equally mindful of screen time and wherever possible, non-screen activities were applied.

Pupils were furnished with art materials and science kits to make the most of their practical lessons whilst their teachers are online and visible to them at all times to support, guide and answer questions whenever needed.

Pupils in Reception class continued with their core subjects online, including their specialised Read Write Inc sessions in small groups.

Weekly assembly contained via zoom and celebrated good work, pupils achievements and our Stars of the Week.

Maintaining the Conifers community was important to us thrghoutough the pandemic and as such as enjoyed an online House Talent Show, distance and activity challenges which have seen the families of Conifers virtually travel along the South Downs Way, from Lands End to John O’Groats and also follow the Six nations Rugby tour! The Big Willett Workout on a Friday afternoon was a definite favourite of pupils, parents and staff alike.

At such a complicated time it was imperative to remain strong as a community, supporting each other and helping our children through this unprecedented time. .
