Most pupils enter our Prep school either directly from our Pre-Prep or, from another school. We are non-selective although new pupils will be required to sit a short test prior to being formally offered a place. These tests are absolutely nothing to worry about and they will be just like tests that she will have seen in school. These tests help us determine that a child will be able to access our curriculum but more importantly helps us know where to help scaffold and support or extend and stretch pupils when they join Conifers.
Once children join this part of the school, the day increases in length to accommodate more sport, regular sports fixtures, festivals and enrichment subjects, such as Mandarin. This is in addition to the core subjects; music, DT, art and outdoor learning that they have enjoyed since the Pre-prep and Early Years. In Form III the children are taught the core subjects by their Form Tutor and then by subject specialists from Form IV and above.
Pupils continue with their academic studies working towards Common Entrance at either 11+ or 13+, or specific senior school entrance exams.
