Learning support and extension
In line with our policy of giving every child an individual education, we have an excellent Learning Support and Extension department. To complement the high level of differentiation that occurs within the classroom setting, teachers are guided by Mrs Goedkoop and Mrs Reynolds, both of whom have trained at the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre, to deliver an education specific to a child’s needs.
Occasionally, children will work on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to address a specific area of difficulty.
This goes hand in hand with our extension programme. Pupils who display a particular strength in any area of the curriculum are invited to small group sessions, which enables a tutor to engage the children in higher level activities.
Due to the nature of Learning Support and Extension, it is always preferable to meet with Mrs Goedkoop during your visit to the school should your child require support. Please indicate if you would like to schedule a meeting when you make your enquiry.
